When he grows up, Mikel wants to be a police officer.  A very personable 11-year-old, he is known for his great personality and has many friends.  Some of his favorite activities include watching cartoons, drawing pictures and playing video games.  He is very athletic and enjoys playing sports, including baseball, soccer and football.  He was the quaterback of his school football team.

Enrolled in the fifth grade, Mikel has won several student awards.  Math is his favorite subject.  Although he has been struggling with reading and spelling, he has been working hard to improve his grades, and is proud of the "A" her recently received in spelling.

Yolanda, nine, has a sweet disposition and is a very affectionate child who loves giving hugs to people she cares about.  She enjoys combing and styling her dolls' hair, coloring, arts and crafts projects, watching television and participating in church activities.  She also likes engaging in sports and other activities that help strengthen her motor skills.  A third grader, she loves math and aspires to be a teacher when she grows up.

Takiyah is musically inclined and loves listening to music, singing and dancing.  Although she is only seven years old, she is thinking about being a teacher or a nurse in the future.  Very friendly, Takiyah enjoys playing with her friends but also enjoys time alone.  Very bright, she excels in school, where she is in the first grade.  She has made significant progress academically since she found positive and effective ways to express herself.

Currently, the siblings are in separate foster placements.  Their greatest desire is to be adopted by the same family so they can grow up together.  They would thrive in a patient, loving, supportive family that would provide a stable environment for them.  The siblings are eligible for financial subsidy.

Please contact the National Adoption Center, 1500 Walnut Street, Suite 701, Philadelphia, PA 19102 if you would like more information about adopting children out of the foster care system.  Call today for a free packet of information, 215-735-9988 or visit the website at www.adopt.org.
