Kind-hearted, giving and out-spoken, 14-year-old Medinah has a brilliant smile that draws people to her. She has a strong capacity and desire to connect with people. An articulate teenager, she readily engages in conversation and has a great sense of humor. One of her favorite pastimes is drawing, copying figures or sketching them from memory. She also enjoys participating in church activities, especially bible studies. Medinah envisions a career working with children. For the present, she concentrates on mentoring younger foster children, teaching them right from wrong. In the ninth grade in school, she does well academically. Although she sometimes lets her behavior get in the way of her academic success, she is trying hard to improve. She knows what she needs to do and has the ability to figure out how to do better next time. Medinah has much potential. However, she needs help to achieve it. She would benefit greatly from having a loving, committed, nurturing family - a couple or a single adult - that would provide a structured environment for her. She responds well to clear, concise rules. The ideal family for her would help her build her self-esteem and establish trusting relationships. She is close to her younger brother and it is important that they continue to stay in touch. Medinah is eligible for financial subsidy.
