Of the approximately 500,000 children who are in foster care, only 20% are eligible for adoption.
Of this number, approximately 65% are children between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age.
And approximately 45% of the half million children in the foster care system are African American!
Unfortunately, you don't hear much about the above statistics in the newspapers, television, magazines often enough. But they are REAL. It's time for us to come together and do something to help our children.
Faces of Hope will feature a picture of an African-American child available for adoption and/or foster care every month. Along with this picture will be a short biography of the featured "Face" or "Faces" of Hope, and information on how to adopt or provide foster care for him or her if you decide to do so.
Each one of us who makes an effort to bring one African American child out of the adoption or foster care system, and into a family setting goes back to the ideals and notions that have sustained us for generations.
OUR CHILDREN NEED OUR HELP! Consider becoming an adoptive or foster parent to a child who only wants to be loved.
